Today marks a unique and exciting day in the bookish world as two vastly different books are released today! August 15th, 2023, brings the publication day for Ayelet Gundar-Goshen's The Wolf Hunt and Isabel Canas' Vampires of El Norte. These two novels couldn't be more distinct in terms of genre, but both promise to deliver gripping narratives that will leave readers spellbound.

Just to be transparent, I'm currently reading The Wolf Hunt as an ARC (thanks Netgalley & Little, Brown and Company!), and although I'm only about 25% in, I'm really enjoying it! The Wolf Hunt by Ayelet Gundar-Goshen takes us on a suspenseful journey through the heart of Silicon Valley (my home!!). Lilach, an Israeli immigrant living a seemingly perfect life, is faced with the unthinkable when tragedy strikes close to home. A tale of race, identity, and the hidden truths within families, Gundar-Goshen's signature storytelling prowess is poised to once again captivate readers.

On the other end of the spectrum lies Isabel Canas' Vampires of El Norte. Now, this one might feel familiar as it was a selection this month from BookOfTheMonth.com. So some you lucky readers already had early access! Set in the 1840s amidst the Texas-Mexico border tensions, this supernatural western introduces us to Nena, the daughter of a rancher, and Néstor, a vaquero haunted by past traumas. Against the backdrop of an impending war, their paths collide as they confront not only the world's upheaval but also the lingering darkness that threatens their lives. With a blend of folklore, history, and the paranormal, Canas promises a thrilling narrative that transports readers to a time when monsters walked alongside humans.

August 15th, 2023, is not just a release day—it's an invitation to explore the realms of fiction in all its diversity. Enjoy the journey!

Happy reading! Bobbi
